More crochet hats!
More hats! The munchkin wanted one in pink...
I made a blue one for the little man, but in a more masculine style.
It was just a tad too big, so I made a simple one that was just as cute!!! Could not choose just one pic, so I'll show them both to you...
A big thank you to the gorgeous models!!!
They will all probably be in the Etsy shop tonight.
Well, the hats will be in the shop. Not the kids. Duh.

More crochet...
Crochet is something I can do while watching the dynamic duo play. My hands are busy, but I don't need to think about what I am doing.
So yesterday I made a hat. A baby size, adult size and kids size. The munchkin loved it, but she preferred pink (shocker!!!) so I will have to make another one. I think it's cuter in white.
I am not sure what to do with the hats and the pattern. Should I put them in the Etsy shop?

Stamp cutting tutorial
A nice tutorial for a rainy sunday afternoon! You can carve your stamps, but when you want to make something larger, its way easier to cut them!
You will need:
A sharp knife or scissors
A sheet of craft foam
A piece of wood
Double sided tape
Inkpads.
Draw your picture on the foam sheet and cut out the individual pieces.
Stick the double sided tape to the wood or MDF board.
Stick the picture to the double sided tape. Ink the foam picture.
Stamp your picture to paper.
And voilà! A home made stamp!
This craft is very suitable for children, since there are no messy or difficult steps. The foam is so easy to cut that even small children can do it!
If you want to make a large ink pad, you could take an old piece of felt or even quilt batting, lay it on a sheet of glass or perspex and pour some Talens Ecoline or stamp in on it.
Have fun!

Taking after mommy
On a rainy day (aka typical Dutch summer day) we decided to make ourselves a gallery. We sat down at the table with all the pencils and crayons that we have and started coloring the day away. The munchkin, the little man and I made the same picture of Bert and Ernie. Sooo cute! You can see the difference in skill with those two!
The munchkin made this one:
And the little man made this:
We had to stop coloring when the little man started to eat the crayons. Maybe I should feed him more.

Apple mania
No, I'm not talking about my Ipad this time. ;-)
Some time ago, I bought some more craft books. I love those Japanese books, with all things zakka and with those cute dolly figures and stuff. This time I bought a crochet book. I loved this cute crochet apple! So that was one of the first things I made.
I thought the fabric was really zakka too... Ikea has such great fabrics!
The combo inspired me to carve a matching stamp and print my own fabric... For the first time ever!
As soon as I find the time (and my constant headache decides to take a vacation) this will be a library bag for the munchkin!
For anyone interested in Japanese craft books and Zakka: I buy my books here.

A lovely afternoon
I have been busy today. The munchkin decided not to need a nap, instead we sat at the dining room table and did some nice crafts together. She played with her Barbapapa stamp kit while I carved some new ones. A great afternoon.
Which reminds me, I need to mount some stamps and put them in the Etsy shop... More room in my Crafting cabinet usually means more room in my head...

Glittery magic wand cookies
The munchkin loves dressing up. Her all time favorites (so far, she's just two years old) are her little wedding dress and the princess "gown". She loves playing fairy with them. So I decided to make her some fairy treats! Yummy glittery magic wand cookies!
They will be in the Mjammie Etsy shop soon!

New toys
I bought myself a toy!
And with that toy, I can make these!
For some time now, I have loved buttons and badges. Those with vintage pictures are the cutest! I wanted to make them myself, but I had no idea how to go about it. Until I discovered this toy at the toystore! Now I can make 40 buttons just how I want them!

Finished duvet cover
Finally, the duvet cover for my little pal Emil is finished! I hope he will have some really, really sweet dreams while sleeping under this duvet...
BTW, some of you asked me where I found the cross stitch chart with the munchkins. I found it in a cross stitch magazine that I bought in Spain when we were on holiday, a month ago. It's calles Los Labores de Ana. Too cute, huh?

A day at the zoo
No craftiness today... We spent the morning at the zoo. A small one, close by, but the dynamic duo didn't care! They spent the day petting, playing and sliding. They love the playgrounds even mo than the animals. That didn't stop them from petting the one month old goats. Too cute! The little man was really gentle!

Crochet doilies (2)
Another mega-doily! It's not easy finding suitable charts, if the holes are to big there will be accidents... Bleeding knees, teeth falling out, the works... And the little man is accident prone as it is!!! This one is about 60 cm across, weighing in at 800 grams... It does build muscle crocheting like this... But the result is worth it!
They are for sale in my Etsy shop. Even the munchkins rug, I made a second one!

Easy cake pop mushrooms tutorial
Today is the last day of preschool, the summer holiday is starting... So I asked if I could make the munchkins something nice.
These are cakepops! And pretty easy, too. You will need small cupcakes, white and red candy melts (i'm afraid you do need those, chocolate is really hard to melt and get crystallized correctly) and some royal icing. And skewers, to use as sticks for the pops!
Just bake some mini cupcakes, cut off the top and use some melted candy melts to glue the bottom to the top, upside down.
Dip a skewer into the candy melts and stick it in the cupcake. Leave in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Melt the white (or yellow) candy melts in a cup. Dip the cupcake mushroom in the candy melts and make sure it is completely covered. Shake of excess. Leave in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Melt the red candy melts in a cup. Dip the top of the mushrooms in the red candy melts. Shake off well. Leave in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Make some white royal icing, or use some white candy melts and a skewer. Fill a piping bag with icing and make the dots on the mushrooms. Leave to dry overnight.
And yum! Edible mushrooms!

Crochet doilies
My mom made tons of doilies when I was a kid. That is probably where my crochet-mania started. I used to think they were corny, but now I can see the therapeutic effects of crocheting repeating patterns. So I made my own doily today.
Hard to tell how big it is, huh?
Well, this big. I put my sunglasses next to it for reference.
Yep! It's a rug for the munchkins room!
I used Zpagetti, a reclaimed material made from scraps from the fashion industry. All new materials! I'll probably make a bigger one for the living room too...
