Today I would like to show you the little lamb stamp. Thanks for that great idea! I do think there might be another lamb in the future, I have another idea of what a lamb could look like.




I was planning to make some cookies today, but the munchkin passed her stomach flu on to me... So the cookies will have to wait...

I keep hearing requests for a stamp carving tutorial. As soon as I feel better I'll make one!

You made such nice suggestions that I needed to figure out what stams I should carve and how I should draw the pictures. The next one in the list, after the frog and the sun, is the kokeshi doll. Thank you for that suggestion!!! This is what it turned out like:




I've also been experimenting with sending cookies in the mail, so I can use them as a pick-me-up for friends who need one. Once I have found the right way to send them, so they'll arrive in one piece, I might just put them in my Etsy shop...

My mother in law celebrates her birthday tomorrow. A sneak preview of her cake will have to do, because she will get it tomorrow, I don't want to give the surprise away just yet!!!

Did you notice?

I've been gone for almost a week... Did you notice? We took a small vacation to clear our heads, turned out the munchkin cleared more than that, she has been sick since last night, so we returned sooner than expected. There will be another cake post tomorrow, my mother in law celebrates her birthday on sunday, and of course I volunteered to bring the cake. Her actual birthday was last wednesday.

I know she reads my blog. So...

Today was a beautiful day. Sunny, bright, not too cold, a perfect end to winter. Everywhere you look there are blossoms and buds. I love this time of year! Just look at the blooming back yard we have here...

Spring at last!!! I did think the sun itself wasn't enough so I made a rainbow to accompany it. I used them to box up some cookies (rainbow colored cookies!) for friends.

I am considering selling my cookies on Etsy, but only in The Netherlands... Would that be a good idea? Hmmmmm... Time for a cookie post...

The frog is finished! I actually carved more stamps yesterday, I needed some for the label of a box of cookies that I made for friends, I'll show you that tomorrow.

An apple a day... Yes, please!

When I saw these on Pinterest I knew I wanted to make them some day! So when my husband told me that he needed some cake for his co-workers, I knew just what to make! They are too cute to eat! And guess what... The cupcakes were fine, they didn't cave in at all!!!

More stamps tomorrow, working on a sun and a frog...

Taking a break

Not sure if I'm taking a break from stamp carving to do some cross stitching or if I'm taking a break from cross stitching to carve some stamps...! Anyway, I made this cross stitch piece for my husbands grandmother, who at the age of 94 moved to an appartment and really misses her garden and the birds...

Anyway, I made this for a friend who is pregnant after miscarrying twice. I know that this time it will be fine, I had a dream that she carried to term and had a girl. So she can start painting the nursery pink. I used the stamp to gioftwrap a small gift for her.

Spring

And not a minute too soon... I am completely fed up with winter. It even started to rain while I was carving the stamp.

*sigh*

Today three more batches of failed cupcakes. I want to curl up and cry. But I wont, dammit!

So useful. The best decisionmaking EVER.



Maybe I should lay off the cupcakes for a while. Start with the stamps again...

The Lego cake

And yes, I promised you the pics of the lego cake. So here they are! My husband loves lego, it's the only thing he got for his birthday. He has an entire lego city in the guest room! So what else but a lego cake...



With a real lego block, a duplo block from the munchkin and the lego storage box...



And it was really, really yummy too!

Kidsproof camera tutorial

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, but I was exhausted after my husbands birthday. Especially since the dynamic duo decided not to sleep, eat or play. But I understand that a birthday in the family is a huge event when you're one or two years old!!!

I'll show you the lego cake later, but I can't promise you tutorial-lovin' folk a tutorial and not deliver. So here it is... The ultimate kidsproof camera!

It's super easy to make! Just download this pdf to your pc and print the file on some cardstock. Follow the instructions and you could be the proud owner of a real unbreakable camera! Of course you can't take actual pictures with it, but nevertheless, it looks fun, huh?

Another birthday!

Today is my dad's birthday, hooray! Of course I made him a cake. I forgot to prepare my gum paste, so some things are a little saggier than exoexted, but hey, busy times because tomorrow, it's my husbands birthday. He deserves a cake too!!! So tonight I'll be baking again...

My daddy loves to fly Cessna airplanes... So guess what... :-)
