Baby Boom

We are having a baby boom! so far, this year has brought my friends two baby girls, a baby boy and two more on the way... And it's only june! So no surprise that my friend and I went to see another baby yesterday. She was adorable! I made cupcakes for the occasion. Easy ones, since it was extremely hot on tuesday... They were cute anyway!





This weekend I can show you a picture of the finished baby blanket. The cross stitch piece is finished, you should see the callus on my fingers...

Cake pops tutorial...

Haha, fooled you! I did try to make a cake pop tutorial, and I almost finished it, but it's been so extremely hot the last couple of days that the chocolate melted so fast I couldn't take any decent pictures... It just would not set!!! And we are not used to these temperatures here, so no AC... This is what it's like in my back yard...

Busy, busy, busy me...

I'm also working on a tutorial on how to make the easiest cake pops EVER, with no baking involved! Right now I am trying which ingredients give the best results... While gaining ten pounds... :-p

Cake pops

Today I decided that this would be the day that I produced some decent cake pops. I bought two books on cake pops recently, this one and this one. The reason that you didn't see me making any was that I failed miserably!

But... Today... Succes!!! They don't look like much, but they are delicious!

Next time I promise they will look cute too!

Another baby!!!

A good friend had a baby a few weeks ago. Today we went to see the little boy. And he was gorgeous! Of course I made him a cake. And a present. Or rather, I made his mom a present! I made a brand new diaper pouch!

It's finished! And I think it's adorable... Just in time too, we're leaving tomorrow. I'm glad we are, the munchkin is suffering from severe home sickness... She has been asking to go home for five days now...

This piece will be framed and find a home with a new little friend...

Idle hands

In Dutch there is a saying: ledigheid is des duivels oorkussen, which menas the same as "Idle hands are the devils workshop". It means, in 21st century language, that if you're bored, you're probably up to no good. That is why I decided to take some of the free cross stitch kits with me on holiday. This one I finished last week:

A day at the zoo

Today we went to Fuengirola Zoo. We had a great time! I love the fact that this is a zoo without bars anD lakes, but with the animals in beautiful living areas behind safety glas!!! So you can actually stand next to a huge gorilla and walk alongside the tigers... They are not easily startled anyway, they are used to people being in their faces....

But the best thing about this zoo is that you can walk across the island where the lemurs live!!! Sooo cool! The dynamic duo loved it!

Oh yes, we are still here! Or rather, we are there. We are enjoying a family vacation in Torremolinos, Spain. And since we are here enjoying sun, sea and great food, and you're not, I would like to share some of our little man's day with you!
