Cookie party favors

Yesterday a friend came over to make cookies as a party favor for her little girls birthday party. Marjolijn turned six last week, congratulations big girl! She made such lovely cookies that I really wanted to share them with you! Can you believe this is the very first time she ever made iced cookies???

Sweets for my sweet

More valentines day cookies! I decided to make some small ones, so you can feed them to your lover, hehehehe. They turned out to be pretty cute!



Also, there are some nice, colored hearts available. You can choose the color yourself! How cool would it be to send blue and white hearts with one red one to a friend who had a baby boy?



And finally, I tried my hand at some brush embroidery. I am nowhere near the level that Amber Spiegel from Sweetambs is at, but for a first time it's not so bad! What do you think?



Most of the cookies will be in the shop tomorrow!

Valentine's day cookies

Christmas is over, so now we all aim for the next holiday: Valentine's day! The ultimate pretty cookie opportunity! Especially since Mjammie will send them completely anonymously to your secret love. Or with a card, if you prefer that. You could send my new lovely hearts cookies (in the shop tomorrow)...



Or you could send a nice cup of tea to a friend who could use one. Or two, if you want to join them.





Or a nice edible bouquet of cute flowers. Whatever you like.



You could even send them a box of blue monsters. Depending on the message you want to send.

Just remember that the closing date for ordering Valentine's day cookies is Februari 7th! I will make sure your order arrives at the intended recipient on Valentine's day!

Booksale

Another two books were sold last week. My books are almost gone, so I need to figure out what I want to do with my Hoppin' Up shop. I am not really into bookbinding any more, so what else can I do?

Lately I have been into crochet again (nooooooh, really???) and the cheerful birdie-polkadot patterns have been rreplaced with natural colors and zakka style minimalist items. Like these.



These are some sort of coasters. They are a little bigger, so you can also use them as a potholder (not for really hot items, obviously, but they will do for a teapot). I initially made them because I was fed up with the puddles of water you get when you have a cold drink. They work great for that.



It is pretty hard to find a nice way to photograph astack of white crochet coasters for Etsy. So I resorted to the Munchkins toys.

Hope you still have all your fingers, ears and eyes and it all works well! If so, not a bad start to a new year. If not, sorry.

Something that will help you have a great start of the year is some cheerful Happy New Year bunting! This one is easy to make with my free printable and some yarn. I did use my laminating machine to laminate the back, so it's just a little more sturdy. If you want to do that, laminate two pages together with the printed sides facing eachother, trim the edges and cut out the individual flags. Punch holes, thread, and hang!
