Haakmachine

Ben ik weer! Je zou denken dat het minder druk wordt nu de dame naar school gaat, maar niets is minder waar. Ik doe wel van alles, maar ik kom er alleen niet toe om er over te schrijven. Het is voornamelijk haarwerk. Makkelijk, zonder nadenken. Ik kan inmiddels alles hakend. Theedrinken, tv kijken, kinderen straf geven. Ideaal.

Hoe dan ook, het dekentje waar ik mee bezig was voor de kleine man is af. Hèhè. Zelfs project Draadjes is rond. En dit is m geworden...







Dekentje klaar, mama trots, en ik laat m aan de kleine vent zien... Wat denk je... Hij wil m niet! "Zit geen geel in mama!"

Dus wij togen samen naar de wolwinkel. En de kleine vent zocht zelf zijn kleurtjes uit. En die is ook alweer af.







Deze was wel naar wens, maar nu zit ik met een dekentje extra. Die staat binnenkort in de Hoppin' Up Etsy shop.
Heel wat steken gemaakt dus. En inmiddels ook alweer bezig met een nieuwe, als kraamcadeau. En met koekjes, aanvragen voor foto's voor in de media en tussendoor probeer ik ook nog een huishouden te runnen. Ach ja, dat laatste kan ik altijd nog uitbesteden.

Het leven is een feestje

"Het leven is een feest, maar je moet zelf de slingers ophangen. Kent u die uitdrukking?"

Niks zo treurig als zelf de slingers moeten ophangen. Alleen misschien ze zelf weer weg moeten halen.

Dus doe de jarige een plezier en stuur hem of haar deze kaart die je vindt in mijn Hoppin' Up Etsy shop. Zet 'm neer en dan is het binnen een minuut feest mèt slingers. In alle kleuren die je maar wilt. En het opruimen is ook geen treurig moment meer.

Foto album

Het is dat ik geen naturel linnen had, anders had ik precies gemaakt met de stempels wat ik voor ogen had. Maar zo vind ik het ook mooi!



Een foto albumpje met losse bladen, waar je zoveel pagina's aan kunt toevoegen als je wilt. Of af en toe een gekleurde pagina er tussen.



Door de extra reepjes karton is er genoeg ruimte voor de foto's, zodat het niet snel open gaat staan.



Binnenkort in de shop!

Ik heb er trouwens nog meer in gedachten... Wacht maar eens af...

New books

In one of my last swaps on Swap Bot, I made a couple of notebooks. In a current swap you are supposed to send somethingbthat you have already made. So I'm sending another ntebook. And suddenly, I am all inspired again. So I am making some new small notebooks with 40 pages. Zakka style. And in true Mjammie, Koekjes style, you can send them to someone instead of a card. They come with a matching envelope!





By the way, the ladybug cookies are done! I will send them to the first one of the three who guessed 15 that will email me at maaike@mjammiekoekjes.nl!

Cookie Nerdness

Today I made a batch of new labels for my cookies. I feel so modern!!!



Do you see what I mean? I made myself a QR code!!! Yes, I am now officially a Nerd. Capital N and all. You need to be to get this excited about a cookie label with a QR code.

Gadget Protection Plan

Finally I am the proud owner of a smartphone. Or, as the little man likes to say, "aaifoon". Unfortunately, mommy didn't want to spend a small fortune on a phone, so a Samsung will have to do.

These things are a bit larger than your average phone. So it didn't fit in the pocket in my bag that has been made for the phones. Only one solution: a Gadget Cozy. Yes, with capitals. I made my own. Zakka style, of course.

It took me some time to decide what I wanted to make. I started with the ultimate Zakka color: natural grey.



I finished it with red, just to add a touch of color.





I wanted to update the Hoppinup shop, maybe this could be something to add to it. Cheap, of course. What do you think?

Booksale

Another two books were sold last week. My books are almost gone, so I need to figure out what I want to do with my Hoppin' Up shop. I am not really into bookbinding any more, so what else can I do?

Lately I have been into crochet again (nooooooh, really???) and the cheerful birdie-polkadot patterns have been rreplaced with natural colors and zakka style minimalist items. Like these.



These are some sort of coasters. They are a little bigger, so you can also use them as a potholder (not for really hot items, obviously, but they will do for a teapot). I initially made them because I was fed up with the puddles of water you get when you have a cold drink. They work great for that.



It is pretty hard to find a nice way to photograph astack of white crochet coasters for Etsy. So I resorted to the Munchkins toys.

The weather

Summer sucked on our side of the world, so we have high hopes for winter. Since I am not one of those meteorologic optimists, I have started making snowflakes. Crochet this time. More snowflakes soon!





These patterns are from a Japanese craft book that I bought on Etsy. If you google "crochet snowflake chart pattern" you will find plenty of snowflakes you can make yourself!!!

The finished apple swap package

The package was sent, received and appreciated! I am so glad! This is how it turned out:

By the way, did you notice that I am miserably failing my Drawing Lab Monday? I have discovered that the book has a lot of assignments that are hard for me to do with two little ones running around. Going to the zoo, finding live models, drawing in public and such. But I found another book that might just work... More on that tomorrow.

An apple for the teacher

Sone time ago, I initiated a swap, where you would make your swap partner something really nice, based on their profile. I got assigned to a teacher. No surprise that I picked an apple theme.





Translation: an apple for the teacher. I made it into a pencil case. I hope she likes it.

Lacy crochet cuff bracelets

Inspired by an idea on the Vlijtig blog, I made a crochet cuff bracelet. Even though I am not into jewellery, this is something I would wear! What do you think?





It will probably show up in my shop in different variations... I really love it, and I hope you do too!

New cross stitch creations

The cross stitched house was turned into a key-pouch today. This is what it looks like now:




I also made a cross stitch chart from my birdie logo! Do you recognize it?



And of course I made that one into a pouch too, but this one is for personal use. If you want one, I can make you one though.



I made a pink lining... I love pink!



And this one has been in my head for a very long time now... If you remember these, we are probably the same age!!! I used to play this on my nephews Atari... Don't know what I will make with this one yet! But I love it anyway!!!

Zakka cross stitch

Since my last post I have been baking. A lot. Yay! Both on- and offline the cookies have been really popular, so now I have to go and get new boxes. It has been a real ego-boost to read the comments and hear them from all of you in person!!! New cookies are on their way as we speak.

Meanwhile I have also had some time to work on some other things. I have been doing some cross stitching to make more pouches. Like this.
