Today I start my drawing lab project. Assignment 1:
Draw as many cats as you like in about ten minutes. The catch: lay in your bed, put the paper on your pillow and use a black fineliner. No tables allowed! Or any other solid surface, for that matter.
Use your favorites to make some extra nice cats.
I cheated. I admit it. I didn't get into bed (because the munchkin wanted to join, a three year old with indelible markers combined with my white sheets: not in a million years!) but I sat at the dining room table with a pillow under my paper. Same difference. Anyhow.
I started drawing cats and I realised how incredibly hard that is! Honestly, my knowledge of cat-anatomy is dreadfull. So after three attempts that I dare not show you, I decided to let the idea of drawing cats realistically go. *sigh*
This is what I finally came up with.
To my surprise, there were some that I really liked! So I tried some with color pencil...
That didn't do it for me. So I tried something else.
I seriously loved this one! I think I'll make it into something... Don't know yet what it will be, but I didn't expect to like it this much.
Meanwhile, the munchkin made this one. And I was humbled on the spot.
Next weeks assignment: take a picture of a giraffe and draw it on a sheet of paper, not looking at the sheet! Just let your pencil follow your eyes... Hmmmm. Wonder how I'll feel showing that trainwreck to you...
Will you join me? Let me know!
Wat een geweldige opdrachten! En met mooi resultaat!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenKatten tekenen is moeilijk.... Ik heb deze opdracht al een paar keer geprobeerd, maar de resultaten belanden elke keer in de prullenbak...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIk vind jouw katten echt leuk!
